Black Knight
$3995. *MINT CONDITION* This machine had only one owner...and was only played 230 times! Williams' Black Knight was considered the "ultimate" in pinball. A Steve Ritchie creation, it was truly an electronic marvel, featuring a two level playfield connected by ramps. The ball appeared on the upper level, complete with a full array of flippers and targets. The lower level had several new features including "magna-save" (electro-magnets hidden under the playfield in the outlanes and activated by an extra set of flipper buttons) and "mystery score" (a timed bonus lane which scored a random value up to 99,000 points). As well as speaking phrases like, 'The Black Knight Will Slay You' and 'Will You Challenge The Black Knight Again?', the game also contained a doorbell like device to draw attention to the game whenever a player received an extra game or a free game. On top of all of this, Black Knight introduced "Bonus Ball": in a two, three, or four player game, the highest scoring player received 30 - 60 seconds of free play, with all three balls rolling around the double level playfield at once. |
